What's up, dudes? Apologies for a being a bit off the grid as of late. The NFL has officially kicked off and I've gone into business for myself. You add a 1.5 year old, insane quantities of caffeine and a pretty-much-admitted obsession with every console gaming title released, and you get little time to write a blog I imagine many of you couldn't give two poodoos about. (BAM! Star Wars reference!)
Here's what we do know: TOR will be released one day. Here's what we don't know: When the F* it's coming out. But I'll tell you one thing though, there's not a website I don't frequent that's not pushing preorders for TOR. Fantasy football website? BAM! There's a TOR ad. Professional wrestling news site? BAM! Another TOR ad. Porn site? BAM! Another TOR ad. There's one thing for damned sure, and that's the fact that EA/LA/Bioware are Heidi Fleissing the BEEEEEJEZUS out of this title. And I've got to admit, the luster has worn off this game a little bit. It's been almost two months since I plunked down $25 in cold cash to pre-order my Collector's Edition (to the guy who said he wouldn't spend $150 on a game, let me introduce you to...well...me), and I'm losing interest. And I mean, we're talking the-time-Heidi-Klum-married-Seal-loss-of-interest. There are just too many other good looking girls at the party. Gears of War 3, Rage, Arkham City, Battlefield, Skyrim...these are the double Ds (boobs reference) of gaming. TOR is a bad case of blue balls.
The past few weeks haven't been without TOR news, however.
Frank Gibeau, President of EA games, stated recently that they're still aiming for this year and that the release date is tied to beta. If all goes well in beta, then the release will go forward as planned (I'm saying November 15th).
The good folks at LA/Bioware/EA have also delayed weekend betas after ONE FREAKING week. Um, that's not good.
Also, per our own Guildie, "Deepthroat" Magee, the TOR beta is offline for another week when they'll launch a high level beta.
So folks, there you have it. In case you're looking for things to do before TOR, here're some things I've been into below.
The New 52
DC is in the process of relaunching 52 titles, and it's freaking awesome. They're midway through the release. Superboy, Detective Comics and Suicide Squad are my favs thus far. They've all been good, though.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
This game wasn't even on my list until I saw the awesome reviews begin to poor in. Great, FPS game with stealth elements. Solid story, too. Highly recommended.
Until next time...
KNEELIFT!
I liked the new JLA even though it makes my favourite (Green Lantern) look a bit too straight-laced.
